Deutscher Frauenverein zu Pretoria, which came into existence in 1921, celebrated its 100th year in 2021. It is a voluntary Non-Profit Organisation and consists of an Association of members for the operation of social services and facilities.

Deutscher Frauenverein zu Pretoria is the owner of Deutsches Altersheim Pretoria (DAP) and Deutsches Senioren Wohnheim (DSW).

Deutsches Altersheim Pretoria is a Non-Profit Organisation and provides a home for our Senior Citizens, serving the needs for independent living, assisted living and frail care and consists of the following:

Frail Care:    30 Beds consisting of 4-bed, 2-bed and single rooms
Altersheim (Assisted Living): 28x Single Standard Rooms with bathroom and balcony.
2x Extended Rooms with bathrooms
2x Double Rooms with bathrooms
Defra (Independent Living): 47 Apartments, (34 Bachelor Apartments, 12 one-bedroom Apartments)
One Garden Flat – used either as Independent Living or Assisted Living.


Deutsches Senioren Wohnheim (DSW) has 72 Apartments, all of them with a large balcony. Apartments are sold as life-right units for independent living.

15 Apartments = 62m²
12 Apartments = 72m²
45 Apartments = 80m²
